Job Description

Job Title: Pipefitter

Location: Glasgow (Govan and Scotstoun). Must be able to attend a recruitment day in Glasgow.

Salary: 38,662.00 (additional shift allowance of 33% may be applicable).

Requirements: Trade Papers to be provided when submitting application.

What you’ll be doing
  • Fabricating and installing pipework systems in large and small‑bore pipework using different materials (copper, cuni, carbon steel and stainless steel).
  • Using a range of hand tools & mechanical equipment to cut, bend and weld pipes as well as installation of pipework.
  • Installing utilities aboard ship i.e. sinks, showers and toilets.
  • Install and assemble fittings, valves, and related components according to drawings and specifications.
  • Collaborate with other trades to ensure the timely and accurate completion of projects.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out.
Your skills and experiences
  • Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers (you will be required to provide these papers) and relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Current knowledge and experience of pipe manufacture, installation, and use of associated equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH and Risk Assessments.
  • Proven experience as a Pipefitter or similar within an industrial or commercial environment.
  • Desirable: Marine Pipefitting Experience.
  • Experience in industrial or commercial settings.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in TIG Pipe Welding.
