SSV Limited covers expenses while you’re away from home, including accommodation and meals.

Responsibilities of the Pipe Fitter

  • Install and assemble carbon steel and stainless steel pipe systems on customer sites across the UK and Europe, and in our workshop in Leeds.
  • Cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools.
  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
  • Weld thin wall stainless steel dairy tube and (SS) schedule tube welding.
  • Preparing vessels and equipment for NDT inspection.
  • Providing technical and troubleshooting support for mechanical matters, including breakdowns.
  • Working safely and within the requirements of all SSV RAMS.
  • Complying with safe work systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Providing on‑the‑job guidance, support and training to junior team members.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • At least five years of experience of pipe fitting and welding, with TIG welding experience necessary.
  • Proficiency in planning pipe and service routes to provide a hygienic, efficient and aesthetically pleasing pipe design.
  • Ability to read and understand pipework schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Must be able to interpret technical drawings to understand project specifications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair pipe systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Experience with primarily stainless steel grades in butt and fillet welds with or without filler materials from groups FM1, FM2.
  • Experience in a range of pipe diameters from 25 mm to 300 mm and for fillets from 0.8 mm to 12 m in all positions PA, PC, PE, PF, PG (6G).
  • Able to conduct visual testing of welds as per ISO 17637.
  • Must have a UK driving licence and not more than 6 penalty points.
  • Able to work in a physically demanding role which requires work in various environments and in confined spaces.
