Job summary

Waterstones Bookseller in Burton-on-Trent is recruiting for Picker Packer roles. You will pick and pack books and toys, manage stock and packaging, and support dispatch activities while following safety and SOP guidelines.

Shifts include AM and PM, 5 days out of 7, with a 7-week rota and immediate starts. Benefits include weekly pay, full training, car parking, and holiday entitlement.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and pack books and toys using handheld technology.
• Carry out warehouse duties including sorting, picking and packing.

• Prepare goods for dispatch with labeling and secure packaging.
• Operate equipment safely and follow SOPs.
• Support stock management and inventory checks.
• Collaborate with Team Leader to complete daily tasks.
• Undertake any other duties to keep the operation running smoothly.

We are currently recruiting for Picker Packer positions in Burton-Upon-Trent (DE14 2UZ). At Waterstones Bookseller, you will become part of a supportive and welcoming team, working under the guidance of inspiring leaders across various departments. Our dedicated on-site team is here to assist you in your role, ensuring you have the resources and support needed to excel in your position.

Role of a Picker Packer:

• Accurately pick and pack books and toys using RDT technology
• Carry out a variety of warehouse duties including sorting, picking, and packing
• Handle tasks involving lifting, moving items, walking, and standing for most of the shift
• Prepare goods for dispatch, including labelling, wrapping, and ensuring secure packaging
• Operate pump trucks safely and efficiently
• Follow standard operating procedures in line with company policies
• Maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety, reporting any concerns immediately
• Support stock management activities, including inventory counts and investigations when required
• Work closely with the Team Leader to complete daily operational tasks
• Undertake any other reasonable duties to support the smooth running of the business

As a Picker Packer you will need to have:

• Flexibility regarding shifts and availability for overtimes
