Job summary

Russell-Cooke is seeking a Professional Indemnity & Risk Lawyer to join the Risk & Compliance team in Central London. The full-time role requires 5+ years' PQE with experience in professional indemnity, claims, complaints and risk management, and the ability to handle associated litigation where required.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor or lawyer with minimum 5+ years PQE.
• Experience in professional indemnity, claims, complaints or risk management.
• Strong understanding of SRA Standards and Regulations.
• Knowledge of data protection, privacy and confidentiality obligations.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate with partners and senior stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support Risk & Compliance in meeting legal, regulatory and professional obligations.
• Assist with management of PI insurance claims, notifications and insurer relationships.
• Liaise with insurers, brokers, panel solicitors and the Legal Ombudsman.
• Assess potential exposure and advise on mitigation strategies.
• Manage notifications under the firm's PII arrangements.
• Monitor claims trends and prepare management information.
• Maintain firm's claims, complaints and risk registers.
• Advise on conflicts, confidentiality, undertakings and professional conduct.
• Support COLP and wider Risk & Compliance functions.
• Assist with data protection matters and deliver risk training.
• Keep up to date with professional regulation and risk management developments.
