Job description
Position Summary

The post holder will work as a Band 4 role under the supervision of a registered physiotherapist, as part of the North Bristol Trust Physiotherapy Musculoskeletal Outpatient team. You will facilitate recovery and promote independence for patients referred by physiotherapists, and you will work alongside a dynamic, experienced team of registered clinicians and support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and implement physical treatment sessions following treatment protocols, monitoring patient progress.
  • Adapt or progress treatment plans with advice from qualified physiotherapy staff.
  • Lead or assist group rehabilitation sessions that promote exercise and self‑management skills.
  • Carry out indirect patient‑related duties such as booking appointments, coordinating patient groups, and liaising with the multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Assist with both the administrative and clinical aspects of rehabilitation groups.
  • Attend all mandatory training provided by the trust.
  • Participate in the weekend rota on inpatient orthopaedic/trauma wards – one weekend day every four weeks, plus one weekend bank holiday and one weekday bank holiday per year.
  • Use multiple computer systems effectively; strong IT knowledge is essential.
Working Hours and Schedule

There is limited flexibility on working hours and days, to be discussed at interview. The weekend rota described above will also apply.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Band 4 level physiotherapy employment.
  • Will work under the indirect supervision of a registered physiotherapist.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt and progress treatment plans.
  • Proficient computer literacy; strong IT knowledge.
  • Proactive and team‑player attitude, with willingness to support the service and take on delegated duties.
  • Capability to attend training sessions and remain compliant with the trust's requirements.
