Job summary

MPA Recruitment is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant to work at Belfast City Hospital, supporting the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. The role offers Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm hours with an immediate start and an assignment expected to run long term beyond March 2027.

You will work alongside qualified physiotherapists to help patients improve mobility, participate in rehabilitation, and regain independence. Driving licence and car access are required.

MPA Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting a Physiotherapy Assistant to work at Belfast City Hospital, supporting the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust.

Working alongside qualified physiotherapists, you will play an important part in helping patients improve their mobility, participate in rehabilitation and regain their independence. From supporting exercise programmes to assisting with walking practice and monitoring patient progress, you’ll help make a meaningful difference to patients’ recovery.

With an immediate start available and an assignment initially running until March 2027, this opportunity is expected to continue well beyond that date.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following qualification and experience requirements:

• NVQ Level 2 in a healthcare-related subject, or equivalent, alongside 12 months’ relevant paid experience in patient care or rehabilitation.
• Four GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English Language and Mathematics, or equivalent, alongside 12 months’ relevant paid experience in patient care or rehabilitation.
• Graduate or pending graduate of a recognised professional healthcare qualification.

Applicants must also hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car on appointment, subject to the Trust’s stated exceptions. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with a willingness to complete an Enhanced Access NI check.
