A healthcare recruitment agency is looking for a B6 Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to cover shifts in the A&E department. The role involves collaborating with A&E staff to ensure effective patient discharge plans, supporting the induction of new staff, and providing training on community services. Applicants must be HCPC registered. Weekend shifts are required.
Utilising their knowledge of community services and clinical skills, the post holder will work closely with A&E staff to ensure seamless, safe and effective discharge plans are in place for patients to return to their usual residence as soon as possible, preventing admission to hospital. The post holder will have excellent clinical decision‑making skills that support A&E staff in managing the discharge of patients into the community and community beds. They will support the induction of new staff, attend MDT meetings, and provide training and education to A&E staff regarding the support community services can offer and the processes involved in discharge management. Records and data will be maintained in a timely manner and in line with information governance and data sets required for the service.
