Job summary

Focus Resourcing is seeking a temporary Science Technician (Physics) for a well-established Reading school. The role is 28 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with pay in the £14.40–£15.00 per hour range, starting ASAP to cover practical science sessions and examinations.

You will prepare equipment, support practical lessons, keep lab spaces tidy and safe, assist physics teaching staff, and provide cross-subject support where needed. This position requires DBS checks and proactivity.

Qualifications

• Experience in a laboratory setting or science technician role.
• Physics, Engineering or Electronics background advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up equipment and apparatus for Physics lessons.
• Support practical lessons and examination practicals.
• Maintain and organise laboratory equipment.
• Provide day-to-day support to Physics teaching staff.
• Assist across other Science subjects when required.
• Ensure equipment and practical areas are prepared safely and efficiently.
