Job summary

UK St. Claire is seeking a Physical Therapy Aide/Assistant to provide direct patient care by implementing treatment plans set by licensed therapists.

You will help patients regain movement, improve mobility, and manage pain while supporting operational efficiency through chart audits and department tasks. Responsibilities include coordinating with the PT team, documenting outcomes in the EMR, and educating patients about procedures, home care, and safety.

Qualifications

• Collaborates with physical therapy staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Documents all patient care activities and outcomes in the EMR.
• Implements physical therapy treatment plans by administering exercises and modalities.
• Educates patients and families on treatment procedures and home care.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with PT staff to coordinate patient care.
• Implements treatment plans through exercises, modalities and manual techniques.
• Observes patient responses and reports progress to the Physical Therapist.
• Documents care activities accurately in the EMR.
• Instructs and motivates patients in functional activities.
• Trains patients in use of braces, prostheses, and assistive devices.
• Educates patients and families on procedures and safety.
