Job summary

SRG in Deeside (UK) is seeking a Scientist I – Physical Testing for a 12-month, onsite contract. The role supports the product development process for medical devices by conducting physical testing to ensure safety, efficacy, and quality.

Responsibilities include designing, executing, and documenting tests in line with GMP, GLP and GDP, developing test methods, analysing data, and contributing to CAPA investigations while maintaining rigorous data integrity and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in a laboratory environment.
• Broad understanding of physical testing techniques.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Operate within ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 laboratory quality systems.
• Design, plan and execute physical testing activities for R&D and base business projects.
• Develop and validate new physical testing methods per industry standards.
• Analyse data using statistical tools and report findings.
• Prepare validation protocols, reports and benchbooks; document to GDP standards.
• Conduct investigations into out-of-specification results and implement CAPA actions.
• Support daily laboratory operations including equipment maintenance, stocking, and sample logging.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science
