Job summary

Sheffield Hallam University - Sport and Physical Activity is seeking a Physical Performance Coordinator to coordinate and deliver a high-quality Strength & Conditioning (S&C) programme for performance athletes and student members. You will work with staff across Sport Hallam and the wider University to support athlete development and ensure safe, inclusive service delivery.

The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and strong coaching and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver a high-quality Strength & Conditioning programme for performance athletes.

• Oversee key systems and processes and ensure safe, inclusive service delivery.
• Occasional evening and weekend activities, including events and open days.

Organisation Sheffield Hallam University - Sport and Physical Activity Salary £28,592 to £31,861 pro rata per annum (depending on experience) Location Pearson Sports Centre, Sheffield Hallam Collegiate Campus, Sheffield, S10 2BP Contract type Permanent (Full time) Closing date 4 November 2026 Job Description Working as part of the Sport Hallam Performance Team, you will coordinate and deliver a high-quality Strength & Conditioning (S&C) programme for performance athletes and student members. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Sport Hallam and the wider University to support athlete development programmes, contribute to collaborative projects, while ensuring a seamless service delivery that is safe and inclusive.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail are a vital part of the role. You will coordinate service administration by managing athlete data, streamlining bookings, and using performance insights to enhance service delivery. Strong coaching and communication skills are essential, as you'll be working with student athletes, club coaches, academic staff and external partners. You'll also mentor and lead student interns and placement opportunities, while overseeing key systems and processes.

The role is primarily Monday to Friday, but flexibility is required to support occasional evening and weekend activities, including events and open days.
