Job description

This role is based out of our Poole Studio

Diversity matters

We are building a brand that represents the people of the world. It's what you do that counts, and we are always looking to expand perspectives and voices to shape our future.

We see you, we celebrate you, we want you!

Who we are

You might know us as the inventors of the bath bomb, but there's more to this great-smelling, partly employee-owned, family-run company than pioneering cosmetics. We believe our business should put more back into the world than it takes and demonstrate that capitalism can be a force for good.

The Living Wage Foundation's statement 'a hard day's work deserves a fair day's pay' is one that we are proud to commit to in the UK. As an accredited Living Wage employer, we put our people first and fight cruel practices like animal testing, promote regeneration, and show that it is what's inside that counts – whether that's an ingredient in a product, or the minerals in a smartphone.

The role

As a Retoucher/Editor, you will support the creative team in enhancing and refining imagery to ensure it meets our brand's high standards. Working closely with photographers and art directors, you'll help bring our visual concepts to life through careful image editing and retouching.

As a Lush enthusiast with a passion for cosmetics, you'll ensure that all content is edited to the highest standards possible. This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of the ever-growing photography team within Lush, with your core focus on creating and elevating high-quality content for Lush-owned platforms and beyond.

Please note: We may close this vacancy early if we receive an overwhelming response or our business requirements change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure best practices are implemented, maintaining organised file structures, correct file naming conventions, image protocols, and overall quality control standards.
  • Confidently deliver high-quality work across multiple projects simultaneously, from detailed product colour‑matching to complex compositing and creative problem‑solving.
  • Seamlessly switch between different projects, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.
  • Guarantee all imagery meets brand standards – delivering pixel‑perfect, colour‑accurate, and visually impactful results.
  • Collaborate effectively: Work closely with the Photography and Production teams to ensure imagery is matched to the correct sample, the sign‑off process is efficient, and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Stay technically sharp: Keep abreast of industry trends, new Photoshop techniques, and best practices for high‑volume workflows. Proactively suggest process improvements to boost quality and efficiency.
  • Work independently and under pressure: Confidently manage multiple edits and tight turnarounds, always delivering at the highest standard.
  • Integrate AI‑assisted retouching techniques to improve workflow.
  • Occasional creative support: Assist with creative ideation through the lens of what can be achieved.
Skills we are looking for
  • Excellent Photoshop expertise: you’ll have already gained professional retouching experience at a mid‑weight level, with advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop CC, and editing best practices (colour correction, compositing, skin retouching, etc.).
  • Proactively communicate the status of projects and workload, working with a variety of stakeholders to ensure all retouching is delivered to deadline.
  • Establish excellent working inter‑departmental relationships through their thorough understanding of the product and ability to respond to feedback.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a proven ability to retouch to a premium commercial and campaign standard. Ability to bring innovation to high‑volume photographic workflows, reducing the sign‑off process while improving the quality of imagery produced.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to spot the smallest inconsistencies in colour, texture, and composition.
  • E‑commerce + campaign experience: confident working across both high‑volume e‑commerce imagery and more creative, stylised campaign assets.
  • Skilled at working with photographers, producers, and other creatives, while able to take constructive feedback and translate it into actionable improvements.
  • Constantly looking for ways to improve image quality, reduce retouching time, and streamline workflows.
  • Calm under pressure: comfortable working to tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities, and staying focused on quality.
  • Keeps up to date with Adobe software updates and new techniques to continuously improve craft.
Must haves
  • At least 2 years of existing editing industry experience. Working at a commercial/professional capacity.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and intermediate skills in Capture One.
