The Role

This is a varied, hands-on role perfect for a true tech enthusiast who loves tinkering, problem-solving, and interacting with people. You'll be the go-to expert for repairing a huge range of electronic devices, assisting customers, and helping to run the shop day-to-day. If you have a solid foundation in repair and are hungry to learn more, we’ll provide training on new devices and advanced techniques to help you master your craft.

Key Responsibilities

    • Repairing tablets (e.g., screen replacements, battery swaps).
    • Repairing laptops (e.g., software issues, hardware upgrades, screen/keyboard replacement).
    • Repairing games consoles (e.g., HDMI port repairs, drive issues).
  • Sales & Customer Service:
    • Serving as the first point of contact for customers, providing a friendly, professional, and welcoming service.
    • Diagnosing device faults in-person and providing accurate repair quotes.
    • Managing sales of new and refurbished tech, accessories, and components.
  • Shop Operations:
    • Managing our sales channels (e.g., website, eBay), including creating compelling listings, managing stock, and processing orders for shipment.
    • Actively promoting the shop's services through excellent customer service and helping with our online and social media presence.
    • Ensuring the shop is kept clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.
    • Assisting with stock control and other general maintenance duties as required.
About You (The Ideal Candidate)

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced: You have proven, hands-on experience in repairing mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. Experience with console repair is highly desirable.
  • Technical: You are a natural problem-solver with excellent attention to detail. Micro-soldering experience would be a significant advantage (but training can be provided for the right candidate).
  • Customer-Focused: You are friendly, patient, and able to explain complex technical issues to customers in a simple, clear way.
  • Self-Motivated: You are reliable, punctual, and can manage your own workload effectively in a busy environment.
  • A Great Communicator: You have strong verbal and written skills, both for face-to-face sales and for creating engaging online listings.
  • Genuinely Passionate: You live and breathe technology. You're the person your friends come to for tech advice. You follow the latest gadget news and trends and are genuinely excited to learn new repair techniques.
What We Offer
  • A Fantastic Work-Life Balance: Enjoy your weekends! Our hours are 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. No weekend or bank holiday work.
