A prominent NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full-time technical and operational lead for their Phlebotomy Department. The Phlebotomy Department based at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is part of the Eastern Pathology Alliance (EPA), a managed Pathology network involving NNUH, the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Kings Lynn. The Phlebotomy department provides a phlebotomy service at NNUH only, covering daily ward‑based phlebotomy 7 days a week and outpatient phlebotomy on the NNUH site. All staff are expected to model NNUH’s ‘PRIDE’ values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence.
This is a full‑time substantive role for a nursing background candidate to act as the technical and operational lead for Phlebotomy at NNUH. The post holder will be the primary point of contact for technical and clinical advice, ensuring a high‑quality phlebotomy service, coordinating a team of about 40 staff and a sub‑team of roughly 10 bank staff. The role requires building leadership skills within a busy service.
