Job summary

Primary Integrated Community Services Ltd (PICS) is seeking a phlebotomist to join a busy GP practice. You will perform venepuncture, obtain consent, and deliver a safe, high-quality blood collection service while maintaining accurate records and collaborating with GPs, nurses and the wider team.

The role emphasizes patient experience, professional development, and contributing to continuous improvement within a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in venepuncture and English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
• Experience in General Practice and providing care or services to the public.
• Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills, with accurate record-keeping and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Obtaining patient consent for blood collection.
• Performing venepuncture in line with practice protocols.
• Maintaining accurate patient records on SystmOne.
• Labeling, packaging and storing samples correctly.
• Ensure samples are sent to the laboratory promptly.
• Collaborate with nursing team to support service delivery and audits.
