Job description
Phlebotomist

The University Hospital of North Midlands, Mid Cheshire and East Cheshire NHS Trusts are working collaboratively to form a Pathology network (NMCPS) in line with a NHSI directive.

We are looking for a confident and well-presented individual to join our phlebotomy team. The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations. The successful applicant must enjoy working with people and possess good communication skills.

Main duties of the job

Full training will be given to the successful applicant - no previous experience is required. We offer a phlebotomy service in a range of locations across North Midlands including Royal Stoke and County Hospitals, ward based, community walk-in centres and community appointment based clinics. Attention to detail is important along with basic keyboard skills and applicants should enjoy the challenge of working in a fast pace patient environment. The successful applicant will be based at COUNTY HOSPITAL working primarily on the wards. You will also be required to work at community clinics and the phlebotomy suite within the Out Patients Department at County Hospital.

There may be the occasional requirement to work at Royal Stoke Hospital.

Work patterns
  • Work pattern 1: 5 x 5 hour shifts, variable starting/finishing times on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
  • Work pattern 2: 4 x 5 hour shifts, variable starting/finishing times on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
