Woodcote Medical in Purley and Coulsdon is seeking a friendly and experienced Phlebotomist to join our GP practice on a part-time, fixed-term basis.

You will perform phlebotomy, collect blood samples, ensure patient comfort, and maintain accurate records across two sites, Monday to Friday 7:45am-12:00pm, 21.25 hours per week.

Job summary

We are looking for a friendly, experienced and confident Phlebotomist to join our supportive and welcoming GP practice for 21.25 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 7.45am - 12pm)

Main duties of the job

This is an important patient-facing role within our clinical team. You will be responsible for providing safe, efficient and compassionate phlebotomy services to our patients, ensuring they have a positive and reassuring experience throughout their appointment.

Experience of working in a GP Surgery is essential.

About us

Woodcote Medical is a well-established suburban practice with approx. 18,000 patients across two locations in Purley and Coulsdon. Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, Clinical Pharmacists, ANPs, a Paramedic, Nurses, HCAs, First Contact Physios, and a large administrative and patient services team.

Salary: £13 to £14 an hour

Contract: Fixed term, 365 days

Working pattern: Part-time, Flexible working

Key Responsibilities

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 12:00pm

The role involves working within 5-minute appointment slots, so confidence, efficiency and excellent practical skills are essential.

The successful candidate will also need to be flexible to work across our Purley and Coulsdon surgery sites.

• Experience in phlebotomy
• Experience working in a GP practice

• Is reliable, organised and able to work independently
• Has excellent attention to detail when handling, labelling and documenting samples
• Understands the importance of infection prevention, clinical governance and patient safety
• Is adaptable and willing to work across both practice locations.
