Overview

SRG are currently working with a well-established company producing a wide variety of emulsions and adhesives for a wide range of applications. As their success continues and the company continues to grow, they are looking to hire a PhD Synthetic Polymer Chemist to join their small technical team based in South Yorkshire. This role would suit candidates who have recently completed a PhD in Chemistry, with proven experience of synthesising polymers either through education or work history.

Responsibilities
  • Develop formulations of new and existing products polymer/emulsion products, working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Support in the synthesis and development of polymer-based products
  • Support process improvement of formulations
  • Support in various short-term applications and development projects
  • Support in the scale-up of new products, providing support to production as and when needed
  • Convert successful formulations into manufacturing instructions, supporting the scale-up from laboratory to production
  • Advising production teams on appropriate adjustments to ensure product meets customer specification
  • Complete production Quality Control (QC) as required
Requirements
  • A PhD in Chemistry or similar (Polymer Science etc.)
  • Proven formulation/development experience of synthesising polymers and polymer-based products (through education or work history)
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken
  • Well organised with good time management skills
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn and self-motivated
