Job summary

The University of Nottingham seeks candidates for the Net 2 Zero Centre for Doctoral Training in Negative Emission Technologies. This four-year programme trains future leaders in tackling climate change.

Candidates should have a first-class degree or equivalent and knowledge of ceramic manufacturing. The opportunity includes a tax-free stipend, paid tuition, and a research training support grant.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidates should hold or expect to gain a first-class or upper second-class honours degree (or their equivalent) or a 60% or higher weighted average MSc.
  • Experience in characterisation of electrical properties (ionic and electronic conductivity), crystal structure and chemical composition.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-performance, stable mixed ionic-electronic conductors.
  • Manufacture conductors into ceramic tube membranes.
  • Conduct oxyfuel combustion of biomass fuels with the oxygen produced.

Education

First-class or upper second-class honours degree or equivalent
60% or higher weighted average MSc
