General Description:
City, University of London, in collaboration with St George’s, offers PhD and MPhil opportunities within the field of Applied Vision. The Centre for Applied Vision Research supports interdisciplinary research in Optics, Visual Science, and Optometry, with projects addressing clinically relevant and real-world challenges. Research topics include paediatric eye care, glaucoma management, age-related macular degeneration, myopia pathogenesis and interventions, colour vision screening, machine learning for early-stage vision deficits, COVID-19 impacts on visually impaired individuals, binocular interactions, motion perception, and factors influencing Ortho-K lenses for myopia control. Students will conduct rigorous research combining experimental, clinical, and computational approaches, contributing to academic publications and practical applications for practitioners, patient groups, and clinical stakeholders.
