Job summary

The University of Leeds is recruiting a PhD candidate through the EPSRC Materials 4.0 CDT to develop smart and automated nanomaterial-characterisation workflows, integrating electron microscopy with advanced data analytics to generate reproducible results.

This funded project combines SEM and TEM with spectroscopy, diffraction, computer vision and cloud-enabled analysis to deliver automated characterisation data and concise scientific summaries. Deadline 8 January 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience with electron microscopy techniques for material characterisation.
• Ability to develop automated workflows for data analysis.
• Familiarity with AI/ML approaches in imaging and analysis.
