A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Band 4 Registered Pharmacy Technician to join the team supporting GP practices in Northumberland. The role involves managing medicines management tasks, collaborating closely with clinical pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. Candidates should have relevant qualifications and the ability to work flexibly across multiple sites. Business insurance is required. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to primary care services, ensuring patient safety and effective medication delivery.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Northumbria Primary Care for a Band 4 Registered Pharmacy Technician to join the team, supporting a group of GP practices within our West Northumberland Neighbourhood (NPC Ponteland and NPC Haydon Bridge and Allendale). The successful candidate will work closely with clinical and administrative colleagues to process a wide range of medication related tasks. The successful candidate will be expected to work between Ponteland and Haydon Bridge. The base site will be Ponteland and mileage can be claimed from base site - the postholder must have business insurance on their policy.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive primary care medicines management system acting on current best practice. The Pharmacy Technician will be required to undertake activities predominantly within practice, but will need to be flexible to work to the wider demands of the network.

The role will contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of medicines to patients e.g. medicines supply, actioning of discharge summary medication changes, liaising with care homes regarding prescription queries and supporting the organisation move towards online prescription services. An understanding of primary care operations and use of SystmOne would be an advantage but is not essential.

Appointees will have a nominated base site within NPC as we appreciate continuity and teamwork is vital to effective primary care. As a large multi-site organisation we benefit from offering cross site support and the opportunity to work flexibly across our practices. We also offer evening and weekend working which further enhances flexible working opportunities. Please note that NPC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
