Job description
Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Pharmacy Technician with excellent problem‑solving skills who is self‑motivated and organised to work as part of the team at CRH. The role will involve providing a clinical pharmacy and medication administration service to the acute respiratory unit at CRH, managing hospital workload under the direction of the hospital pharmacy team, and supporting patient discharge and medication flow.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a clinical pharmacy and medication administration service to the acute respiratory unit.
  • Administer medication to all patients in this cohort and support the discharge process and medication flow on the ward.
  • Perform medicines reconciliation, controlled drug audits, counselling patients, and training and mentoring colleagues.
  • Manage hospital workload and work within a small multidisciplinary team.
  • Collect and present data to demonstrate the benefits of expanding pharmacy into new areas.
  • Provide input into how the role develops and contribute to service changes.
Qualities and Qualifications
  • Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Services Skills (NVQ) or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with significant post‑qualification experience.
  • Good verbal and written command of English.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and an outstanding interpersonal and relationship‑building ability.
  • Demonstrates a caring, compassionate and empathetic approach to work.
  • Ability to plan own time, use initiative and act independently within the bounds of existing knowledge and skills.
  • Contributed to the implementation of changes in service, products and/or systems.
  • Capable of working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Computer literate.
