Job summary

Circle Health Group's Sarum Road Hospital in Winchester is hiring a Bank Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team on an as-and-when-required basis. You will dispense medicines, support ward-based activities and collaborate with pharmacists and nursing staff to ensure safe, timely distribution.

The role requires GPhC registration, NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent, hospital pharmacy experience, and excellent attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (or equivalent qualification).
• Experience working in a hospital or healthcare pharmacy setting.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and prepare medicines accurately in accordance with prescriptions and legal requirements.
• Supply medications to wards, theatres, and outpatient departments, ensuring safe and timely distribution.
• Participate in ward-based activities, including stock top-ups, medicines reconciliation, and patient counselling (within scope).
• Work closely with pharmacists and nursing teams to support safe and efficient use of medicines at ward level.
• Maintain appropriate levels of stock across all areas of the pharmacy and clinical units.
• Order, receive, and check deliveries, ensuring secure and correct storage of medicines.

Salary: Up to £18.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy department.

This is a bank role working on an \"as and when required\" basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

• Dispense and prepare medicines accurately in accordance with prescriptions and legal requirements.
