Job summary

Skills4 Pharmacy in Newbury is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy team. The role aims to develop skills to become a registered Pharmacy Technician through the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship.

You will support safe, effective supply of medicines, work closely with pharmacists, and progress within the apprenticeship with potential for full-time employment after completion.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at A-C or 4-9 in Maths and English desired but not essential as can be provided as part of the course.
• For applicants without Maths and English Level 2 or equivalent qualifications, employment will be offered on condition of completing initial Maths and English tests to determine suitability for the course.

Responsibilities

• Managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines safely and accurately.
• Providing person-centred advice to patients on prescriptions and OTC medicines.
• Supporting day-to-day running of the pharmacy including stock control and governance.
• Supervising and supporting pharmacy support staff as you progress.
• Assisting with training and mentoring new staff members.
• Maintaining high standards through auditing and responding to feedback.

We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join a busy pharmacy team. This role is ideal for someone looking to progress within pharmacy and develop the skills and knowledge needed to become a registered Pharmacy Technician.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing, ordering, receiving and supplying medicines and pharmaceutical products safely and accurately
• Providing person‑centred advice to patients on prescription and over‑the‑counter medicines, referring to healthcare professionals where appropriate
• Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, including business processes, stock control and clinical governance
• Supervising and supporting pharmacy support staff as you progress in the role
• Assisting with training and mentoring new members of staff
• Maintaining high standards through auditing, evaluating services and responding to feedback

Apprenticeship & qualification:

• Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship (equivalent to A‑level)
• On successful completion, you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Training delivered through a blended learning approach alongside your job
