Job summary

A leading pharmacy chain in the United Kingdom is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will provide expert advice to patients and manage operational tasks to ensure safe, ethical services. Applicants should be registered with the GPhC and have strong communication and organisational skills. Opportunities for training and career development are available within this full-time role, which is open to part-time discussions.

Qualifications

• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and willing to complete the training course to check prescriptions.
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability preferred, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Providing tailored advice to patients about medicines and products.

About the Opportunity

Boots is at the forefront of community pharmacy innovation, partnering with the NHS, the government and local communities. As a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability you’ll lead the pharmacy team to deliver a trusted service to patients. You’ll have many opportunities to develop your career with ongoing CPD and a 6‑week Accuracy Checking Programme if you don’t already hold the qualification.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

• Providing expert, tailored advice to patients about available medicines and products.
• Delivering various services depending on the store’s needs.
• Building strong relationships with the pharmacy team; coaching and inspiring them to deliver the highest standard of care.
• Assisting with the triage of patients and distributing prescription hand‑outs.
• Taking ownership for legal, safe and ethical decision‑making in the pharmacy.
• Managing operational tasks including replenishing stock, workload management, order fulfilment, receiving and handling controlled drugs whilst ensuring patient safety.
• Completing the Boots 6‑week Accuracy Checking Programme if you do not already hold a formal qualification from a recognised training provider.

What You’ll Need To Have

• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC and willing to complete the 6‑week training course to become qualified to check prescriptions.
• A passion for coaching and leading a dispensary team.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Motivation to improve services for teams, customers and patients.
• Desire to deliver outstanding patient care.
• Ability to use pharmacy systems and technology.

It would be great if you also have

• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician with checking capability – training will be given if you do not have it.
