We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Hewell, a category B Prison located in Redditch.

In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

Hours

Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 18:30
Weekends and Bank Holidays: 08:30 – 17:30
You will work a fixed rolling shift pattern, working 14-15 days per month: Week 1: 4 days including weekends; Week 2: 3 days weekdays only.

Salary

This position is full time. You’ll receive an annual salary between £34,428 – £41,658 per annum, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration the need to maintain a high level of security.
  • Hold direct patient contact, which will be part of a comprehensive healthcare package, based on the prison services needs.
  • Make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Job description / responsibilities

As a GPhC registered pharmacy technician with Practice Plus Group you will become an integral member of the pharmacy team, as well as a valued member of the multidisciplinary clinical healthcare team. You will:

  • Provide outstanding, patient-centred care by listening to and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver a safe and secure medicines management service, maintain patient medical records to the agreed standard, and follow standard operating procedures to a high and orderly standard.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care within the scope of professional standards, including timely administration of medicines and cost-effective prescribing as defined by our health in justice medicines policy.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links within teams, partners and stakeholders, delivering a service that people can trust and feel proud of.
  • Promote best practice, evidence-based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
  • Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, medicines legislation and general health education with the multidisciplinary team.
