Coastal Medical Partnership is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join the Integrated Clinical Pharmacy Team. You will support GPs, Clinical Pharmacists and the wider MDT across the PCN, helping to maximise safe, cost‑effective prescribing and to deliver person-centred care.
Responsibilities include medicines reconciliation, running clinics within your area of expertise, and assisting with Structured Medication Reviews under supervision, ensuring timely monitoring and smooth patient pathways.
Coastal Medical Partnership is an innovative and forward-thinking Partnership that also represents a single Primary Care Network (PCN). We are in the unusual position of being able to work seamlessly across the network with no inter Partnership/Practice boundaries. Clinical Pharmacy in General Practice is part of an exciting programme of transformation to develop a new model of care which addresses our ambition to deliver person-centred, coordinated care across the district. The Clinical Pharmacy in General Practice model is supported by the direction of national policy including the Five Year Forward View where there is a need to better utilise the role of pharmacy within primary care to pro-actively help patients stay safe, well and out of hospital as well as assisting to reduce the demands on general practice.
The purpose of the role is to support the GPs, Clinical Pharmacists and the wider MDT across the PCN, to maximise safe, cost effective prescribing to improve the quality of patient care. The post holder will develop and encourage a positive culture of medicines optimisation principles to assist the PCN in achieving local and national medicines related objectives. Under the supervision of a wider team the Pharmacy Technicians will use their expertise to ensure effective and efficient use of medicines, including running their own clinics within their area of expertise.
We are excited to work with applicants who are looking for a varied and interesting job, working with a great multidisciplinary team (MDT). This role is an integral part of the Integrated Clinical Pharmacy Team across the PCN. We aim to always provide high quality care to our patients and also to look after each other at work to ensure safe and sustainable Primary Care. We border the spectacular South Coast and beautiful New Forest National Park giving us huge opportunity to empower our patients to improve their health as part of their well-being. This is an excellent part of the UK to be a health care professional.
Coastal Medical Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to safer recruitment procedures, including satisfactory references, verification of identity and right to work in the UK, occupational health clearance and a DBS check. The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate their suitability to work with vulnerable groups and comply with the Practice's safeguarding policies and procedures.
