Pharmacy Technician

Office expectation: The successful candidate is expected to be in the office 4 days a week, with working from home on a Thursday, please note this is essential

Working days and hours: Monday to Friday, the client is happy for candidates to work 8.00am to 5pm or 9.00am to 6pm with 30 minutes lunch per day (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week)

Salary range: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum depending on skill and experience

Responsibilities and duties
  • Own the full onboarding and registration process, including supporting admin staff with managing new patient registrations.
  • Conduct medicines reconciliation consultations for new patient registrations and determine eligibility for treatment in line with practice protocols.
  • Liaise with GP practices to gather patient medical information for triage and ensure a smooth registration process.
  • Respond to patient inquiries both face‑to‑face and over the phone, escalating issues to the pharmacist when necessary.
  • Monitor and support vulnerable patients and repeat prescription processes in accordance with practice protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with GDPR regulations.
  • Support in delivering clinic services, including processing discharge and clinic letters.
  • Assist the Clinical Lead and Practice Manager in governance and regulated activity.
  • Contribute to the day‑to‑day management of the working environment, fostering a positive and supportive culture within the practice team.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to uphold high standards of patient care.
  • Participate in audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
  • Engage in complaint handling, investigations, and responding to feedback as required.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments through ongoing training and professional development activities.
  • Support in meeting service level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and overall practice objectives.
Essential Qualification
  • The successful candidate must have a Pharmacy Technician Qualification (NVQ level 3 equivalent) and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Maintain own GPhC registration and revalidation requirements
