Job summary

Cleveland Clinic London is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team in London. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week at 33 Grosvenor Place, with a salary of up to £42,000 and a shift pattern including days and nights (07:00–19:00 and 19:00–07:00 every 3–4 weeks).

Qualifications

  • GPhC-registered pharmacy technician required.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services or equivalent.
  • Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice.
  • Experience in a busy dispensary and hospital pharmacy is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high-quality, patient-focused pharmacy services with clinical staff.
  • Support day-to-day dispensary operations and assist lead technicians or pharmacists.
  • Prepare labels and assemble prescriptions accurately per SOP.
  • Organise timely supply of out-of-stock medications to patients.
  • Counsel patients on dispensed medications and address queries.

What are we looking for?

Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team, with a salary of up to £42,000.

This is a full-time, Monday to Sunday role (07:00 – 19:00)

There is a requirement to work 1 set of night shifts (3/4 shifts) every 3-4 weeks (19:00 – 07:00)

Patient safety is at the heart of all our pharmacy services. At Cleveland Clinic London, we’ll be using automation, unique to the UK, digital infrastructure, secure storage systems, and bar-coded medicines administration to achieve a closed loop medicines administration system. Our Pharmacy services will enable patients to be fully involved in their own care and to make shared decisions about their treatment.

What will your duties include?
  • Maintain and develop high quality, consistent, patient-focused pharmacy services in conjunction with clinical and patient services staff.
  • Participate in the efficient day to day running of the dispensary and assisting the lead/senior technician/ Pharmacist when required.
  • Prepare labels using the pharmacy computer system and correctly assemble prescriptions, ensuring each item is accurately dispensed and in the correct packaging, according to standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Organise the timely supply of out-of-stock medication to patients, prioritising and delegating this to other pharmacy team members when necessary.
  • Counsel patients on the use of their dispensed medications, offering advice and answering any queries.
What we need from you?
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) (essential).
  • NVQ Level 3 (or recognised equivalent) in Pharmaceutical Services (or similar) (essential).
  • Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice.
  • Experience of working in a busy dispensary department.
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience.
