Job summary

Green Light is an independent employee owned group delivering GP Practice Pharmacist, Community Pharmacy, Education & Training services. We are recruiting a pharmacy technician to join our General Practice team in Barnet, contributing to medicines optimisation and patient care.

You will work with Practice Based Pharmacists and Admin staff to ensure efficient dispensing, medication monitoring and high standards of service for patients across the practice network.

Qualifications

  • Registered pharmacy technician with GPhC and ACPT qualification.
  • Medicines Optimisation qualification held.
  • Evidence of CPD maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Process repeat prescriptions accurately and monitor high-risk medicines.
  • Monitor drug safety alerts and perform reconciliations for discharge.
  • Collaborate with practice pharmacists and admin teams to maintain high standards.

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative award-winning organisation. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced registered pharmacy technician committed to developing knowledge and skills to improve patient care in General Practice. GL@GP recruits, employs, trains and supports pharmacists and pharmacy technicians working in General Practice to deliver high quality patient services. We currently deliver Practice/PCN Pharmacist services to a number of General Practices and PCNs across Greater London. We have a reputation for providing pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are ready to work in general practice by preparing and training them using experienced practice based pharmacists (PBPs) and GP Trainers. We work with the GP partners in the Bromley-by-Bow Health Partnership to enable a training environment for pharmacists and technicians using online services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work at and deliver quality care to patients in Barnet (PCN 3) through efficient medicines optimisation. This will include the assessment of patients own drugs, medicine reconciliation and checking adherence when patients request medications for issue. The post holder will work with the Practice Based Pharmacists (PBPs) and Prescription Administrators to continually develop the service, while maintaining high standards and achieving best practice to meet the needs of patients.

Job responsibilities

We are looking for a pharmacy technician who can work closely with the clinical and admin teams to ensure the efficient processing of repeat prescriptions including medication monitoring for high risk drugs.

Working with the practice pharmacist(s), you will also be responsible for the monitoring and action of drug safety alerts, medication reconciliations for discharge and clinical letters.
