Job summary

Boots in Nottingham is seeking a Pharmacy Systems Governance Specialist on a 9-month FTC, on-site role. You will work with the Pharmacy Systems Governance Manager and central teams to advance new pharmacy systems that improve patient safety and efficiency.

You will develop SOPs, investigate incidents, manage risk, analyse data, and drive innovations in pharmacy practice, contributing to safer patient care while supporting governance and compliance.

Qualifications

• Holding a dispensing qualification.
• Experience with pharmacy regulations and healthcare service provision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with high attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to analyse complex data for process improvement.

What you'll be doing

As a Pharmacy Systems Governance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing innovative pharmacy systems that enhance patient safety and operational efficiency. You will work closely with the Pharmacy Systems Governance Manager and collaborate with central teams to drive the evolution of pharmacy practices. Your contributions will directly impact the development of new technologies and processes that safeguard professional accountabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop pharmacy processes and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Investigate and determine the root cause of incidents.
• Manage risk through effective risk management processes.
• Deliver actions aligned with the Patient Safety Strategy.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements and innovations to enhance patient safety.
• Conduct data analysis of errors and generate reports for senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with central teams to drive innovation in pharmacy practice.

What you'll need to have (our must-haves)

• Experience working with the Columbus dispensing system.
• Holding a dispensing qualification.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy regulations and healthcare service provision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to analyse complex data and make process improvement recommendations.
• Strong organisational skills to manage a demanding workload.

It would be great if you also have

• Understanding of the external context for pharmacy and digital healthcare.
• Knowledge of medicines supply chain logistics.
• Experience in risk management within pharmacy systems.
