University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Pharmacy Support Worker within the Medicines Management team. This entry level role supports ward medicines and discharge processes and offers a pathway to a Level 2 pharmacy qualification.

Qualifications

• Health and physical abilities sufficient for the post.
• Required to lift and handle packages weighing up to 15kg on a repetitive basis.
• Required to move pallets weighing between 500 and 600kg using an unpowered pallet truck daily.
• Must be able to commit to completing in-house training within 6 months of starting.
• Must be able to work late evenings, bank holidays and weekend working according to rota requirements.
• GCSEs or equivalent grades in English and Maths; science subjects desirable.

Responsibilities

• Complete stock top ups for ward areas to ensure medicines are available to patients during their stay.
• Dispensing discharge medicines from the ward to enable fast discharge of patients.
• Completion of level 2 qualification.
• Supporting good medicines management on all ward areas.
