Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement of medicines across the trust and to supervise the Pharmacy Procurement Officers with a focus on Homecare Medicines Service. The role involves coordinating orders, invoices and queries, and working closely with the Pharmacy Technician Specialist for Medicines Homecare.

The post requires leadership of a small team and a strong focus on timely processing and service delivery to patients

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and timely procurement of medicines for the Northumbria NHS Trust.
• Provide supervision and guidance to Pharmacy Procurement Officers, with emphasis on Homecare Medicines Service.
• Process orders and invoices and lead a team of procurement officers.
• Manage the workflow of the Pharmacy Homecare Team, ensuring prescriptions, invoices and queries are processed promptly.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy Technician Specialist for Medicines Homecare to resolve issues.

Job description

To ensure the efficient and timely procurement of medicines for the Northumbria Trust as a whole and to provide supervision and guidance to the Pharmacy Procurement Officers with emphasis on Homecare Medicines Service.

• To contribute to the efficient and effective delivery of medicines to all patients and customers.
• To process orders and invoices and provide guidance and leadership to a team of procurement officers with an emphasis on Homecare Services.
• To manage the workflow of the Pharmacy Homecare Team ensuring that prescriptions, invoices and queries are processed in a timely manner.
• To work directly with the Pharmacy Technician Specialist for Medicines Homecare and help resolve issues when necessary.
