Responsibilities

• Check the accuracy of dispensed medicines, verifying patient details, medication type, dosage, labelling, and packaging.
• Report any medication errors or incidents promptly and correctly.
• Provide clinical checks to confirm the safety and appropriateness of prescribed medication.
• Conduct regular audits of the dispensary and stock levels.
• Supervise pharmacy assistants to ensure they follow appropriate dispensing procedures.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of all tasks undertaken.
• Guide and train pharmacy staff, sharing knowledge and expertise.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and practices.
• Support the Pharmacist with delivery and effective record-keeping of patient services (e.g., blood pressure checks, stop smoking schemes).
• Drive awareness of all additional services offered in Pharmacy (e.g., Blood Pressure, New Medicine Service, Asda Online Doctor).
• Develop understanding of Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to them.
