Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Digital Systems Data Specialist to join our Pharmacy Informatics Team. This pivotal role supports the deployment and optimisation of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) across the Trust, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant prescribing practices.The successful candidate will contribute to formulary development, digital systems integration, and the creation of analytical dashboards to enhance clinical decision-making and patient safety. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, the postholder will provide expert guidance on digital medicines initiatives and uphold data integrity and governance standards. Additionally, contributing to national digital medicines strategies.Applicants must possess substantial experience in clinical pharmacy and digital systems. The postholder will be part of the pharmacy informatics/digital team, supporting the Lead Pharmacist Informatics in the deployment, management, and assurance of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) across the Trust. They will use their clinical knowledge and knowledge of the Drug Tariff to ensure medications are prescribed safely and appropriately on FP10s.
Working closely with the pharmacy formulary team, the postholder will contribute to the design, build, and maintenance of formularies for the Trust and its system partners. They will also support the development of user-facing dashboards to help clinical teams interpret prescribing data and drive improvements in patient safety.
The role also includes supporting the implementation of digital medicines initiatives and contributing to the development, validation, and ongoing maintenance of wider pharmacy digital systems.
As part of the pharmacy digital team, the postholder will help provide assurance on the safe and effective use of electronic medicines management systems, in collaboration with the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) and Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO).
They will be responsible for promoting patient safety, ensuring secure and reliable system access, maintaining data integrity, and ensuring systems meet the clinical, regulatory and operational needs of the Trust, its staff, and patients.
