Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in Bradford is seeking an enthusiastic Pharmacy, Clinical Trials & Governance Administrator for a 12 month fixed-term contract. The role involves supporting clinical trials, managing medication stocks, and performing administrative tasks. Candidates must hold an NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic pharmacy assistant to join our expanding clinical governance/clinical trials team. Bradford Teaching Hospitals is a great place to work, with a friendly and welcoming pharmacy team. The increase in clinical trials being run by the hospital has led to this post being offered. Main duties of the job

You will be part of a well-supported and established team, working with experienced staff. We will make sure that you are offered appropriate training and development for the role if required. This is a relatively new role, and opportunities will be available depending on previous experience. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Prior experience of working in a pharmacy is required, but previous hospital work experience is not essential.

Job responsibilities
  • To follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all relevant regulations in the course of duties.
  • To work within Trust and local policies, and to report any non-compliance to the relevant manager.
  • To contribute to the stock management of clinical trial medication.
  • To check stock levels and expiry dates of clinical trial drugs.
  • Delivering dispensed medication to the research teams.
  • To assist with filing, and managing pharmacy clinical trial paperwork
  • To book appointments with trial sponsors.
  • To monitor the temperature-controlled storage areas for clinical trial drugs and report deviations to the clinical trials pharmacy technicians.
  • To answer telephone calls and enquiries as appropriate.
  • To liaise with patients and nursing staff about prescription deliveries
  • To attend relevant meetings with the clinical trials pharmacists and clinical trial pharmacy technicians.
  • General administrative tasks as required to support the clinical trials team.
  • To complete any required training for the role.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as required to support the team including assisting with audits.
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services
  • Good basic general education
Experience
  • Significant experience of working in a pharmacy (hospital experience not essential, training will be provided)
  • Experience of working in a similar role
