Job summary

Pharmacy Assistant to Nutrition Support Team B3

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Pharmacy Assistant to join our well-established pharmacy team.

In this varied role, you will be helping to deliver a high quality pharmacy service to our patients by working directly with both pharmacy and the Nutrition Support Team. You will be responsible for supporting the procurement of TPN from a variety of suppliers and ensuring stock control is managed in the most cost-effective and efficient way. You will also support the administration of the Nutrition support team.

Ideally, you should have an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent with significant hospital pharmacy experience. If not we will support you to complete this in the first 18 months of your employment.

The post holder will place the orders of all parenteral nutrition products for the Trust ensuring compliance with local, regional and national contracts at all times as well stock management, dispensing and to coordinate the administration and data collection for the NST.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade A to C) or equivalent qualification
  • Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) level 2 or Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) level 5 in pharmacy (accredited by the GPhC) or equivalent
Knowledge
  • Stores and distribution experience
  • Dispensary experience including answering queries and progress chasing
  • Customer service experience and task related problem solving
  • Previous work in stock control
  • Hospital pharmacy work experience including knowledge of how to deal with work related non-routine activities
