Job description
Job Overview

We are looking for an Assistant Technical Officer to work in a clean room environment. Full training will be given in all aspects of the preparation of aseptic intravenous products. We are currently completing a business case to enable us to relocate to a state of the art new aseptic unit facility. Please note that sponsorship is not available for this position. The post holder will be expected to participate in weekend, late duty & bank holiday rotas. Core hours are 37.5 per week within the hours of 7am - 8pm. Part time hours will be considered.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
  • You will undertake technical duties in the preparation of systemic anti‑cancer therapy (SACT) within the Pharmacy Production clean room environment ensuring all products are prepared following quality guidelines to ensure patients receive products that are safe to use.
  • Ideal candidate will have a good general education.
  • If not already held, you will complete the Certificate in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Support Staff – BTEC Level 2: Unit 7 – Principles of Safe Preparation and Manufacturing of Medicines and Medicinal Products (in‑house training is provided).
  • A willingness to respond flexibly to the needs of the Pharmacy and the Trust is essential.
