Job summary

Day Lewis Pharmacy in Ellesmere Port is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant (Dispenser) to join a friendly, fast‑paced team. The role focuses on supporting the pharmacist, delivering excellent customer service, and assisting with dispensary duties.

The position offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with one in four Saturdays, and a development path including induction training and potential further qualification courses. Salary up to £13/hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a pharmacy environment is desirable.
• Induction training is provided on joining Day Lewis Ellesmere Port.
• A pharmacy assistant course may be required (3–6 months).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in delivering excellent customer service and efficient dispensary support.

The first stage of this career path at Pharmacy Assistant level is settling into our team and completing the Day Lewis Induction training. Then depending on previous pharmacy experience you may need to complete a pharmacy assistant course which can take between 3-6 months.

The National Pharmacutical Association's new BTEC Level 3 Diploma - Principles and practices for Pharmacy Technicians - is an integrated course tailored to suit the needs of the learner and the pharmacy at a time when the responsibility and professional recognition of pharmacy technicians is growing.

Reporting directly to the Pharmacist Manager, your support at Pharmacy Assistant level is vital to the team in the provision of advanced and enhanced services.

• Assist the Pharmacist in developing the pharmacy business by ensuring the dispensary delivers a superb level of customer service and operates effectively with regards to company policies and procedures.
• Assist on the front counter and be a great welcome and support to patients.
