Job summary

Tesco PLC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our store-based team. You will contribute to accurate dispensing, patient care, and adherence to SOPs while supporting pharmacy services and community health initiatives.

Responsibilities include checking prescriptions, advising customers, and maintaining compliant, safe dispensary operations. This role offers flexible hours across UK stores with training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician NVQ or equivalent.
• Registration with the GPhC as Pharmacy Technician/Accuracy Checking Technician.
• Proof of completion of recognised training for Accuracy Checking/Pharmacy Technician.
• Proof of completing annual Continuing Professional Development requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately completing the checking process, following a pharmacist's clinical check.
• Proactively identifying customers needing help and offering information on ailments and products.
• Explain product benefits and only recommend suitable items.
• Advise on available Pharmacy services.
• Support and deliver Pharmacy Services and Dispensing per SOPs.
• Check dispensed prescriptions for accuracy per SOPs.
• Check the legal validity and accuracy of dispensed prescriptions.
• Respond to clinical and legal queries from Healthcare practitioners.
• Respond to customer queries about prescription medicines and flag complaints to Pharmacist.
• Ensure dispensary routines and SOPs are followed.
• Keep dispensary and consulting rooms clean and tidy.
• Ensure timely prescription administration with attention to detail.
• Promote promotional activities and company initiatives within the team.
• Meet departmental targets set by the Pharmacy Manager.
• Support supervision and development of other team members.
• Keep up to date with legal and professional developments in pharmacy.
• Maintain GPhC annual registration; complete CPD.
