Lead the Future of Medicines Optimisation and Digital Pharmacy

Are you an ambitious pharmacist leader with a passion for improving patient outcomes through medicines optimisation, digital innovation and data-driven healthcare?

NHS Forth Valley is seeking an exceptional individual to join our Pharmacy Leadership Team in a newly established Pharmacist Team Manager – Medicines Optimisation & Digital role.

This is a unique opportunity to lead a strategically important service at an exciting point in its development. As NHS Forth Valley continues to strengthen its whole-system Medicines Optimisation Strategy and advance its ambitious digital agenda, this role will be instrumental in shaping and delivering that vision across primary care, secondary care and integrated health and social care services.

Serving a population of approximately 300,000 people, you will have the opportunity to influence how medicines are used across the healthcare system, improve patient safety, drive value-based healthcare and lead the digital transformation of pharmacy services.

About The Role

This is far more than a traditional management post.

You will lead and develop our Medicines Optimisation and Digital Pharmacy teams whilst providing strategic leadership for digital pharmacy services, including ongoing optimisation and development of our Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HePMA) system.

Working Closely With Clinical Teams, Digital Colleagues, Health & Social Care Partnerships As Well As Regional And National Stakeholders, You Will

• Lead delivery of NHS Forth Valley's medicines optimisation agenda.
• Develop and implement innovative approaches to improve medicines safety, effectiveness and value.
• Shape the future direction of digital pharmacy services.
• Harness data, analytics and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve patient care and service delivery.
• Support the introduction of new medicines, prescribing technologies and digital solutions.
• Influence local, regional and national medicines optimisation and digital health developments.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking pharmacist who can inspire others and help us translate ambition into meaningful improvement.

You Will Bring

• Current registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Significant post-registration experience with leadership and management responsibilities.
• A proven track record of delivering service improvement and transformational change.
• Experience of medicines optimisation, clinical governance and quality improvement.
• A strong interest in digital healthcare, informatics, data analytics or technology-enabled transformation.
• Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to lead across organisational boundaries and bring people together around a shared vision.
