Job description

The role of Lead Pharmacist for substance misuse is an essential post for both Framework and Nottinghamshire Healthcare Foundation Trust and other partners and will be split between frontline tasks and strategic project work.

The post will be initially based at The Wellbeing Hub, Nottingham and The Level where substance misuse services and drug and alcohol detox inpatient services are based (this may change in line with service developments) and will involve some work with the community teams, and other services will also be covered located around Nottinghamshire to provide safe and high-quality care to patients.

The post-holder will work closely with other senior healthcare professionals within the organisation to deliver a responsive and pro‑active people focused service to substance misuse, The Level and The Health Shop.

This post holder will provide expert pharmaceutical input to support medicine‑related clinical governance within the substance misuse service, ensuring safe effective medicines management for all patients across the Nottingham Recovery Network (NRN), The Health Shop and The Level.

To deliver in conjunction with Head of Pharmacy, Forensic Services, Community Health Services and Special Services a clinical pharmacy service to The Level inpatient detox unit, NRN and The Health Shop within the Specialist Services Directorate of Community Health Services and Special Services division.

To contribute to the development of and deliver multidisciplinary training in Pharmacy/Medicines Optimisation across the Framework and The Trust.

To support the Chief Pharmacist and Pharmacy Leadership Team in the development and delivery of education sessions and experiences to pharmacy undergraduates, pre‑registration pharmacists and junior pharmacists, as well as other clinical and healthcare staff.

In conjunction with the Heads of Pharmacy, contribute to the development, maintenance, and monitoring of a high quality, cost effective clinical pharmacy service to Framework and the Trust, and contribute to the development of the local pharmacy and medicines optimisation strategy.

In conjunction with the Head of Pharmacy - Forensic Services, Community Health Services and Special Services and representatives from the Community Health Services and Special Services, contribute to the development of and delivery of pharmacy services to NRN, The Health Shop and The Level inpatient detox unit.
