Job description

At Bristol Myers Squibb, our employees often ask, “Who are you working for?”, a question that fuels collaboration, accountability, and urgency in our work. Our purpose-driven culture inspires us to discover, develop, and deliver innovative medicines to prevail over serious diseases. We offer uniquely interesting and meaningful work, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits. This is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it.

Have you ever thought about the journey a medicine takes before it reaches a patient? Behind every approved therapy is a team of scientists who made sure it was safe, stable, and ready - that could be you.

At Bristol Myers Squibb , we're looking for aStability Scientistto join our Analytical Science & Operations ( ASO ) team at our Moreton, UK site. This isn't just a role where you'll process data and file reports. This is a role where your scientific expertise directly shapes the path a medicine takes from development to the hands of the people who need it most.

So, what will you actually be doing?

Think of yourself as the guardian of product integrity. You'll be working at the intersection ofscience, regulation, and strategy- ensuring that our drug substances and drug products remain safe and effective throughout their shelf life.

Here's what that looks like day-to-day:
  • You'll be the stability expertthat CMC teams turn to when they need guidance to keep projects moving. Your knowledge unlocks progress.
  • You’ll write and approve stability protocols and reports, documents that directly support regulatory submissions for both small and large molecule therapies.
  • You’ll engage with global regulatory agencies, authoring responses to their questions and, at times, representing BMS directly in meetings. That's real visibility on an international stage.
  • You’ll analyse trends in stability data, raise the right flags at the right time, and make sure unexpected results get the attention they deserve, because catching an issue early can make all the difference.
  • You’ll shape how we work, evaluating and implementing changes that keep us aligned with evolving regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
  • You’ll keep us audit-ready, contributing to a culture of quality and compliance that BMS is known for globally.

And here's something worth noting: there is no laboratory bench work in this role. This is a science-driven, knowledge-based position focused on data, documentation, and decision-making.

What's in it for you?

Let’s be direct about the value this role adds to your career:

  • Broaden your scientific impact- You'll work across bothsmall and large moleculeportfolios, giving you rare, cross‑functional exposure that many scientists spend years trying to achieve.
  • Go global- Your work feeds directly intoregulatory submissions worldwide. Seeing your name on documents that shape international approvals? That's a career highlight you’ll carry for life.
  • Build your influence- You won't be working in a silo. You'll be advising seniorCMC teams, representing BMS in regulatory discussions, and collaborating across functions. Your voicewill matter.
  • Grow with the industry- The regulatory and scientific landscape is evolving fast - AI tools, modelling software, new ICH guidelines. In this role, you'll be right at the frontier of those changes, not playing catch‑up.
  • Work in a culture of quality- Being audit‑ready isn’t a tick‑box exercise here. It's a mindset. You’ll develop rigorous professional habits that will define your scientific credibility for the rest of your career.
Is this you?

You don't need to check every box, but here's the profile we have in mind:

  • A degree inAnalytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline(B.S. minimum)
  • 3–5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, ideally in a GMP environment
  • A solid working knowledge ofICH guidelinesand regulatory stability expectations
  • Strong written communication skills - you can turn complex data into clear, compelling scientific narratives
  • Comfortable working independently, managing timelines, and knowing when to escalate
  • Familiar withMicrosoft Office, and ideally systems likeVeeva or LIMS
  • Any exposure toAI tools, statistical, or modelling software? That’s a genuine bonus here
