Job summary

Codis is seeking an enthusiastic R&D Scientist to join its Haverhill site on a temporary basis. You will gain hands-on experience across analytical chemistry, formulation and process development, including spray drying, while supporting APIs, drug products, and enabling technologies.

The role emphasizes solving technical challenges, learning quickly, and contributing as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced pharmaceutical environment.

Qualifications

• BSc, MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or related field.
• Strong interest in pharmaceutical development and analytical chemistry.
• Willingness to learn and solve technical challenges.
• Detail-oriented with ability to record and communicate data clearly.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible and proactive across projects and disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Support development of new pharmaceutical products and manufacturing processes across R&D projects.
• Conduct analytical testing of APIs, intermediates, raw materials and drug products (HPLC, GC, FT-IR, UV-Vis, Karl Fischer, etc.).
• Assist in developing, optimising and transferring analytical methods.
• Contribute to formulation and process development activities (spray drying, particle engineering).
• Generate high-quality experimental records and technical reports.
• Analyse data to support project objectives and decisions.
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing and Project Management teams.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
