Job summary

A leading pharmaceutical manufacturer is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their on-site engineering team in Saffron Walden. Responsibilities include mechanical maintenance and support of facility systems in a clean, regulated environment. Qualifications

  • Recognised mechanical qualification is essential.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing process is required.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance procedures needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance and servicing of equipment.
  • Support planned preventive maintenance and breakdown responses.
  • Work on pumps, valves, compressors, and HVAC systems.
  • Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with GMP and site standards.
  • Support reliability improvements across the site.

Skills

Mechanical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / HNC)
Experience in pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment
Understanding of mechanical systems
Knowledge of GMP and health & safety
Problem-solving skills
Communication skills
Teamwork skills
Ability to work independently
