Job summary

Core Laboratories in Aberdeen is seeking a Petrophysics Laboratory Analyst to conduct routine and advanced testing on geological samples, ensuring data quality and regulatory compliance.

You will operate and maintain specialised lab equipment, perform conventional core analysis (porosity, permeability, high-pressure mercury injection, resistivity), and report results accurately to clients and colleagues across departments.

Qualifications

• Experience with analytical testing and data processing in a laboratory environment.
• Educated to a minimum HNC or equivalent in a science subject, or relevant experience.
• Degree in physical science related subject is desirable.
• BOSIET and MIST offshore survival qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on geological, fluid, and gas samples per procedures and client requirements.
• Conduct petrophysical analyses including porosity, permeability, and resistivity measurements.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment per procedures.
• Record, review, and report analytical data with QA/QC compliance.
• Maintain safe, clean lab environment and meet documentation timelines.
• Travel domestically and internationally, including offshore assignments, as required.
