Job summary

SGS is seeking a Petroleum Inspector to join our global network. The role involves onshore inspection and sampling of cargoes (Crude Oil, Petroleum Products, Petrochemicals and Gases) with a strong emphasis on accuracy, data recording and communicating with terminals and clients.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, often around ship schedules, and require flexibility for weekdays and weekends. Ideal candidates will come from a seagoing or maritime background, possess a full UK driving

Qualifications

• Experience at sea in deck or engineering roles
• Full UK driving licence
• Willingness to work a 24/7 shift pattern and be flexible

Responsibilities

• Carrying out sampling and measurement of cargoes including Crude Oil, Petroleum Products, Petrochemicals and Gases
• Performing inspections such as visual checks, temperature and volume measurements, and drawing representative samples of cargos
• Accurately recording data and completing calculations to determine load, discharge and transfer quantities using the SGS reporting tools
• Working closely with colleagues, clients, terminals and third parties to ensure smooth operations and communicate delays or issues
