Job summary

A prominent, family-owned repair facility in Peterborough is expanding its technician roster. They seek a practical Vehicle Technician who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, values team collaboration, and wants a stable, well-managed environment.

Salary £35,000–£45,000 basic per annum (DOE) + team performance incentive. Working hours are Monday to Friday with Saturdays on a rota basis. Benefits include pension, on-site parking, staff discounts, uniform and modern workshop equipment.

Qualifications

• Time-served technician with solid competence in heavy repair work and fault-finding.
• NVQ / IMI Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent time-served background).
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out core mechanical repairs, including cambelts, timing chains, clutch replacements, and engine/gearbox jobs.
• Use multi-brand diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical faults accurately.
• Complete routine servicing, brake and suspension repairs, and safety health checks.
• Write clear technical notes on job sheets and update service desk staff on job progress.
• Keep working bays clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines.
