Job summary

Butternut Box in the UK is seeking a senior product development leader to own the Additional Products category end-to-end. You’ll shape concepts, deliver launches, and manage product lines across wellness, gifting, food and non-food, balancing customer value with feasibility.

You’ll lead a small team in a hybrid UK setup, joining a fast-growing pet foods business committed to fresh, nutritious meals and strong ESG values.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in technical product development, innovation or R&D in food or regulated consumer categories.
• Hands-on depth taking products from concept through formulation, testing, and launch.
• Experience with third‑party manufacturers and suppliers to develop formulations and production.
• Experience across food and non‑food products is a plus; familiarity with pet category preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shape long‑term roadmap for additional products and gifting across brands.
• Identify opportunities via market, customer and competitor insight.
• Lead reformulations and decide on products that no longer deliver value.
• Partner with manufacturers to identify, develop and launch opportunities.
• Own product development from concept to specification, testing and scale‑up.
• Lead product launches and post‑launch reviews for learnings and improvements.
• Maintain high standards for briefs, specs and documentation.
• Collaborate with Senior Leadership, Marketing, Procurement, Supply Chain and Brand.
